For Visitors



Our libraries are not open to the general public. However, the patrons from our partnership university libraries are allowed to visit and use our collections.

Persons affiliated with Waseda University or Hitotsubashi University

Keio University Libraries have signed partnership agreement with Waseda and Hitotsubashi University Libraries. Full-time faculty members, staff members, and graduate&undergraduate students are eligible for the mutual use of the library facilities and collections of each university.

Requirements for Entering the Library *just for viewing and photocopying library items

Accessible Libraries: Mita, Hiyoshi, Shinanomachi, Science & Technology and Shonan Fujisawa Media Centers

Full-Time Faculty and Staff Member: A faculty/staff ID card
Professors Emeritus: A professor emeritus ID card
Graduate and Undergraduate Student: A student ID card
Part-time faculty and staff members: A letter of introduction *Request a letter in advance from Waseda University Library.

*A letter of introduction issued by Waseda University Library is required to use the Media Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoseikan Library and Library of Nursing and Medical Care.
*Although most of our collections are freely accessible, there are some exceptions. In order to use library items that are not handled with general rules, make an inquiry in advance through your home library.

Loans

From April 2024, full-time faculty/staff members and professors emeriti are able to check out Keio University Library's books by Waseda ID card. A registration via WINE is required in advance.

Interlibrary Loans

Requests for books and reproductions of materials at the Keio University Library can be made from the Waseda University Library. For details, please inquire at the Waseda University Library.
From April 2024, full-time faculty/staff members and professors emeriti are able to request Keio University's books via WINE, and have them delivered to Waseda University Library to check out.

Persons affiliated with other universities, members of the general public

Persons who want to use special materials held in the collections at Keio or materials not available at other libraries for research purposes can take advantage of the copying services or view materials in the library. Inquiries regarding materials can be made to the Media Centers through the library at your affiliated institution or through your local public library. We do not accept individual inquiries.
Electronic resources such as journals, books, and databases are not available.
Please prioritize use of the National Diet Library or public libraries when materials are available at these institutions. Persons under 18 are not permitted to enter the Keio libraries.
